As I was employed by the Finnish electronics industry in Asia in the early 2000s, I was asking myself how Finnish commerce and industry could remain competitive in future. There would be increased competition in traditional industries especially, brought on by the effective production, low costs and able logistics of China. I was given the opportunity in 2008 to buy the sourcing services unit of Kesko and Kaukomarkkinat with decades of history behind it, which led to me founding Nikolai Sourcing. On that day, I took the helm at my own company and started serving Finnish commercial and industrial customers together with my experienced and skilled crew, both in China and Helsinki, and later in India and Bangladesh. All these years we have offered responsible and cost-effective sourcing services for our customers in order to improve their competitiveness, as well as that of Finland.
